Our Tristabelle turned her form around in game fashion at Rotorua to open her winter account.

The homebred daughter of Tavistock had been unplaced in two lead-up runs, but she struck her favoured rain-affected ground to win for the fourth time in 13 appearances from Peter and Dawn Williams’ Byerley Park stable.

The grey four-year-old settled in the last quartet in the early stages of the 1560 metre contest and was pushed along before the turn to be in contention at the top of the straight.

She continued to respond to rider Warren Kennedy’s urgings in the run home to defy her Rating 75 rivals.

Our Tristabelle has proved to be a smart piece of business for Ashley Collins' Platinum Thoroughbreds, who purchased her from our draft at Karaka as a yearling for $45,000.

Her dam Keep Alight, a daughter of Keeper, has done a fine job at stud with all eight of her foals to race successful.

They include Our Tristabelle’s full siblings She’s Alight, a Listed Jungle Dawn Classic winner and the black type placegetter Midnitemagicman.

Out of Gr.1 Australasian and Gr.1 South Australian Oaks winner Our Tristalight, Keep Alight produced a filly by Embellish last spring.
