Our farm graduate Bedford Square continued her consistent run of form with a come from behind win on the Kensington track at Randwick.

The daughter of Tavistock was last at the top of the straight and apprentice Dylan Gibbons stayed near the fence before finishing resolutely to win by 2.2l going away. She now has two successes and four minor placings from her last six appearances.

“We left it up to Dylan and where they were comfortable and it was never really in doubt. It all panned out beautifully and the mare has been a model of consistency,” stable spokesperson Amy Burke said.

Bedford Square was originally sold through our 2019 draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale at Karaka for $45,000. Trainer Matthew Smith and agent John Foote subsequently purchased her for $80,000 when re-offered at the Ready to Run Sale.

She is a daughter of the Street Sense mare Superefficient, a half-sister to the G3 Cameron Handicap winner New Tipperary.

Superefficient has a yearling colt from the first crop of Embellish selling at Karaka in March as lot 1096 in the Kiltannon Stables draft.
