A change of plans for the multiple winner Galaxy Miss will see the mare target Saturday's Listed Seeka Limited Tauranga Classic (1400m).

The five-year-old daughter of Tavistock was brought back into work after a week in the spelling paddock to try and add to her two wins and a placing from her last three starts.

"I was going to put her out for the winter, but she's just too well," trainer Danica Guy said.

"She wasn't really enjoying being in the paddock."

The Matamata conditioner said Galaxy Miss had matured into a stronger horse and could be set for bigger races next season if her form continues.

"She's a lot stronger now and mentally a lot more settled. She is handling her racing a lot better. She's just a bigger stronger mare, so hopefully it continues.

"In the past we've only been able to give her one or two runs and then she's weakened off and had to go for a break, which is why she is so lightly raced.

"We're going to get her ready for the spring and if she keeps racing like she is we might look at loftier targets for her."  – NZ Racing Desk
