Not only was Tavistock responsible for the $170,000 top seller on day one of the New Zealand Bloodstock National Weanling Sale today, he was the sire of the second and fifth-leading sellers as well!
Leading the way from Curraghmore Stud, on behalf of breeders Nearco Stud, was the colt from Sentura (Volksraad) which made $170,000 to the bid of Lyndhurst Farm.
Second on the leader board was Brighthill Farm's colt fro Times Remembered which fetched $155,000 to the bid of Phill Cataldo.
Another good judge bought the fifth-leading seller, with Paul Willetts signing for Cambria Park's colt from Cellaring, which made $105,000.
Not surprisingly, Tavistock was the Leading Sire by Average. His 5 to sell grossed $515,000, an average price of $103,000.
There are 5 more weanlings by Tavistock to sell on Day Two of the National Sale tomorrow.
