Tavistock sires first Australian winner!

5 Aug 2014

Tavistock has sired his first winner in Australia today and, appropriately, it was a horse bred, raised and sold by Cambridge Stud.

Diamond Valores won the opening event on debut at Canterbury in Sydney today, putting up a strong finish to land the honours for the stable of Peter and Paul Snowden.

From the unraced Zabeel mare Special Diamond - herself a sister to the Australian Derby winner Don Eduardo - Daimond Valores was sold by Cambridge Stud at the 2011 Karaka Premier Sale.  The buyer, at $130,000 was John O'Shea.

The first crop of Tavistock have just turned three.  His first crop juvenile runners saw three individual winners including the black type winner Avisto (ex Miraculous Miss, by Exceed and Excel) who won the Great Northern Foal Stakes-LR.

Tavistock stands at a fee of $7,000 + gst (LFG).
