Tavistock talk of the town

19 Aug 2014

DIAMOND VALORES, from the first crop of Tavistock, made it two-from-two with an easy victory at Canterbury in Sydney today.

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, the three-year-old won on debut and has immediately taken another step forward.

The victory comes hard off the back of the win by Imperial Lass (Tavistock ex Tricia Ann) at Mornington last Friday.

Diamond Valores and Imperial Lass have four key things in common...

* both are three-year-olds from the first crop of Tavistock (Montjeu)

* both are from Zabeel mares

* both were bred, raised and sold as yearlings by Cambridge Stud

* both are graduates of the 2013 NZB Karaka Premier Sale

And while Tavistock is kicking goals in Australia, his first black type winner, Avisto (ex Miraculous Miss, by Exceed and Excel) is getting close to a return to the racetrack for her new trainer Roger James.

Avisto, who won the Listed Great Northern Foal Stakes (1400m) last term at two, will resume in the Listed O'Leary Stakes (1200m) at Wanganui, 06 September.
