While the 2014-2015 Racing Season doesn't end until Friday, one certainty is that Tavistock will be crowned as New Zealand's Champion Second Season Sire.

Such has been his lead in the year-two Premiership for some months now, the final result has never been in doubt.

According to figures provided today by Arion Pedigrees, Tavistock has had 53 runners in NZ this season for 18 winners which have, collectively, won 33 races.

His black type record for the season - in NZ alone - is 4 individual black type winners who have won 7 Stakes Races between them; the horses concerned being...

* Volkstok'n'barrell (Gr.2, Gr.3 & LR winner in NZ - Gr.1 winner in Australia)

* Werther (Gr.2 winner in NZ - Gr.2 winner in Australia)

* Avisto (Dual LR winner in NZ)

* Tavy (LR winner in NZ)

Tavistock will also end the current season as New Zealand's second-leading 3YO Sire behind Iffraaj, a remarkable achievement for a young stallion who has had just the one crop of that age.

Another significant result for Tavistock this term is that he is likely to finish in 12th position on the Australian Second Season List for 2014-2015.  From just 12 runners he has had 7 individual winners in Australia from his first crop including, as mentioned above, the Group Winners Volkstok'n'barrell and Werther.
