Applications loves to freewheel in front and the son of the late Tavistock again emphasised that point at Doomben.

The Cambridge Stud graduate reveled in the soft conditions and impressively ran his rivals into the deck over 2000 metres.

Trained by Glenn Thornton and ridden by his son Boris, the six-year-old bowled along at the head of affairs before was joined 700 metres from home and then surged clear again to win for the sixth time from 29 starts.

“He felt the track a bit at the Sunshine Coast (when third), so we then had this race in mind for him,” Thornton senior said.

“Boris rode him a treat and the horse is back now with his confidence up.”

Applications was a $150,000 Karaka graduate who subsequently sold again for A$18,000 at an Inglis Digital Sale and is a son of the late Zabeel mare Vita Bella.

The headline act on his pedigree page is the four-time Group 1 winner Racing To Win with Group 2 winners Classique Legend, Aethero, Chain Of Lightning, Mardi’s Magic and Glint Of Silver also well-performed family members.
