Tavistock’s son strikes again

Tavistock’s son strikes again12 Jan 2024

Actaeon has been in grand touch this preparation and he has enjoyed further success on a second visit to Hamilton.

The Symon Wilde-trained son of the late Tavistock was bred by loyal Cambridge Stud supporters Andari’s Andrew Bryant and David Armstrong and now has two wins and two minor placings from four outings this preparation.

The lightly raced four-year-old broke his maiden on the Hamilton course over 1400 metres last month and enjoyed the step up to 1600 metres on his return.

He lobbed along outside the leader before taking control before the run home and forged clear to win decisively in Tahla Hope’s hands.

Actaeon was bought out of our Karaka draft in 2021 for $30,000 by part-owner Wilde with John White Bloodstock and Pinhook Bloodstock and is a brother to the G2 Championship Stakes winner Tavidream.

Their dam is the King Of Kings mare Cinnadream, who produced a filly by Almanzor last season.
