Kanzai has taken patient handling and the wait with the four-year-old is now proving worthwhile.
The daughter of Savabeel came from last at Geelong to post an impressive maiden success at her third start.
Trained by Nigel Blackiston for Cambridge Stud, Kanzai had finished runner-up at her previous appearance.
The mare was a $425,000 purchase at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Sledmere Stud draft.
Kanzai is a sister to a pair of winners and they are out of the unraced O’Reilly mare Splits.
She is a daughter of the two-time Group 1 winner Legs, also the dam of the stakes winner Wolfwhistle.
It is the family of the top-flight winners Xtravagant, Tiptronic and Sixty Seconds.
