Sir Patrick Hogan has celebrated a meritorious Gr.1 Irish St Leger second placing with Torcedor at The Curragh.
The Jessica Harrington-trained Torcedor had beaten Order Of St George in the Gr.3 Vintage Crop Stakes in April but was no match for the defending champion who careered away to a nine-length win in the 2800m feature.
Torcedor, purchased by Te Akau’s David Ellis and co-owned by Sir Patrick, Sir Peter Vela, Laurie Laxon and Mohammed Moussa, was best of the rest.
