Farm graduate Travest has returned to winning ways on his home course at Warwick Farm.

The son of the late Tavistock has won all five of his races on the track, his latest a last-to-first victory over 1400 metres in the hands of Rachel King.

“He’s a funny horse, there’s not a lot of him and all we did the last week was pacework,” trainer Greg Hickman said.

“He was very fresh and that’s the way to have him. He loves Warwick Farm and 1400 metres.”

Travest is a son of the Thorn Park mare Glamorous Girl, who was a talented performer and won the G2 Desert Gold Stakes and finished runner-up in both the G2 Sir Tristram Fillies’ Classic and the Listed Soliloquy Stakes.

She has done a fine job at stud with seven of her eight foals to race successful and includes Travest’s sister Niffler, who has won five times from Chris Waller’s stable and Sophisticardo who has won three races and ran fourth in the Listed Karaka Million.
