TRIBUTE TO ZABEEL, from Little Avondale

8 Jan 2014

Dear Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan,

It has been a privilege to be involved in the ownership of Zabeel.  Not only has he been an amazing horse for Cambridge Stud but also for those of us that have been fortunate to have mares sent to him and had success with his progeny.

Zabeel has boosted the NZ Racing industry to cement us as world leaders and, time and time again, made us proud to be a Kiwi.

We feel very lucky to be one of four to have had a filly by him born this year.  Thank you Aspinal and Zabeel for that moment of lust!

With him stamping his mark so strongly as a broodmare sire his legacy will, for sure, remain very much a critical part of New Zealand Racing for many years ahead.

We also wanted to thank you and the Zabeel Syndicate again for so generously supporting The CatWalk Trust back in 2005.  It was an extraordinary evening due to a few key factors.  One was, definitely, having a Zabeel service.  This allowed CatWalk to make a significant impact on Spinal Cord Injury Research in New Zealand.  The SCI research centre in Auckland is doing out of this world research with the money from our supporters.  Do let us know if you would like to see the latest and most up to date progress as we would love the opportunity to share it with you.

We unfortunately will not be at the Hall of Fame dinner to celebrate Zabeels worthy induction but wish to thank you both again for allowing us to share in such a special part of New Zealands Racing legacy.

WOW what a phenomenal ride!

Yours sincerely,

Sam, Catriona, Buzz & Susie
