Travimyfriend became the latest black type winner for Tavistock when he upset a quality line-up in the Listed The Sofitel at Flemington.

He settled well back in the running before unleashing an undeniable finish in the run home under jockey Dean Yendall.

Travimyfriend has been a consistent and durable performer for trainer Rachael Frost and is now the winner of seven races.

He has also proved himself in the best of company with a placing in the G1 Otaki-Maori WFA Classic to his credit.

“He’s just a neat horse, he’s wonderful. All his stakes performances have been on good tracks, but he’s best when there’s a bit of give in the ground,” Frost said.

It was a memorable victory for Frost, as it was her first at Flemington since relocating from to Otaki to Mornington.

Bred by Helena and John Goodin in partnership with Gavin O'Dea, Travimyfriend is a half-brother to the G3 Wellington Stakes winner Matchbreaker and the Listed Welcome Stakes winner Dancer’s Tale.

They are out of the winning Carnegie mare Pineau, a well-related daughter of the G2 Bluebird Trophy winner Dopff.

It is the family of the Group 2 winners Vavasour, Pussy Willow and Vilanova.
