Almanzor’s son Unanimous Consent has furthered his unbeaten record in North America with a third consecutive victory following a dominant performance to win the Listed Woodhaven Stakes at Aqueduct.

The Chad Brown-trained colt had been successful on debut at Monmouth Park in September and then reappeared to score at Tampa Bay Downs in February.

Unanimous Consent stepped up in company in his third appearance and handled the rise in class with aplomb to win over 1600 metres by 1.75l in the hands of Manny Franco.

“I don’t want to get stuck inside with him because he’s a horse that takes a little bit to get going,” Franco told Daily Race Form. “When I made my move I wanted to go all in and that’s what I did and he gave me a nice kick.”

Brown said he was now looking forward to stretching the English-bred Unanimous Consent out in distance to 1800 metres in the G2 Pennine Ridge Stakes at Belmont Park on June 4.

He was initially sold for 85,000 guineas (NZ$167,000) to the Jamie Railton Sales Agency at the Tattersalls December Foals’ Sale and then went to the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale where he was bought by Mike Ryan for 150,000 guineas (NZ$296,500).

Unanimous Consent is the first foal of the Fastnet Rock mare Fast Lily and she is a half-sister to the G2 York Lowther Stakes winner Silk Blossom and her sister Mashoora was a dual Group 3 winner and placed at Group 1 level.
