Connections of Tavistock’s highly-promising son Tavidance are being rewarded for their patience.

He was an emphatic winner at Caulfield this afternoon to post the third victory of his six-start career.

Another son of Tavistock in Travimyfriend subsequently credited the late Tavistock with a city double.

The talented Tavidance is prepared on the course by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr.

“All credit to the staff, the horse looks fantastic and we’ve taken our time with him,” Kent said.

“He ran third to Vow And Declare in a stakes race at his third start so we definitely think he’ll get 10 furlongs.”

Tavidance placed in the Listed Connoisser Stakes over 1800 metres behind the subsequent G1 Melbourne Cup winner.

“He’ll come back here in two weeks to run over a mile,” Kent said.

“We’ll take him through his grades and he’s a really nice horse with a big engine.”

Tavidance was bred by Dr. Gene Tsoi and sold to John Foote Bloodstock and Darren Weir for AU$220,000 in Maluka Farm's Melbourne Premier Sale draft.

Tavidance is a son of the unraced Zabeel mare Zadancer,
a half-sister to the G2 Rubiton Stakes winner Heatherley.

It is the family of the Group One winners Linton, Sharvasti and Santa Monica.

Travimyfriend was bred by John and Helena Goodin and Gavin O'Dea and was Group One placed in New Zealand before trainer Rachael Frost moved to Victoria.

The seven-year-old has now won twice in Australia, having opened his account on this day 12 months ago.
