War Eternal dominant at Rosehill

War Eternal dominant at Rosehill19 Feb 2022

Congratulations to trainer Bjorn Baker and his owners on the success of our graduate War Eternal in the closing event on the Rosehill card.

The Pierro colt doubled his winning tally when he capitalised on a perfect ride from Jason Collett to race to his second career victory.

War Eternal purred along behind the leader on the fence and, when asked the question in the straight, he lengthened stride stylishly to win with plenty in reserve.

“He was bought by James Clarke, who does a super job for me, and it was a great ride by Jason,” Baker said.

War Eternal was purchased out of our 2020 draft at Karaka for $160,000 and is the first foal of the Fastnet Rock mare Aleria.

He provided a timely update for his Almanzor half-sister who will be on show at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne next week as lot 347.

Their dam is out of the multiple black-type winner Impressive Eagle, a half-sister to the G1 Queensland Derby and G2 HKJC Cup winner Eagle Way, whose half-siblings Assertive Eagle and Soaressa were also successful at black type level.

Aleria has produced the aforementioned Almanzor yearling filly and produced a daughter to Reliable Man in 2021.
