The well-named Get Hitched added further performance to a rich and deep pedigree this afternoon with a hollow victory at Rotorua.
A daughter of Lonhro and Wedding, the good-looking mare settled back and three wide before improving 500 metres from home.
She circled the field to lead early in the run home for rider Danielle Johnson and then surged clear to score by 3.8l.
The lightly-raced Get Hitched has now won twice for trainer Jamie Richards and more success looks in store for the four-year-old.
Bred by Jamieson Park’s James Chapman, she was a $520,000 Karaka purchase for Cambridge Stud.
Her dam Wedding is a half-sister to stakes winners Handfast and Rusambo and to the Group performer Chipanda.
Wedding is also a grand-daughter of the dual Group 1 winner Love Dance and will be a valuable future broodmare prospect.
