24 May 2022Our Tavistock three-year-old Tavi L’Amour relished the step up to a mile at Hawkesbury where it was so pleasing to see her score with such authority.
Off the back of a runner-up finish when resuming over 1400 metres, the lightly tried filly sat in second spot to the turn and when rider Tommy Berry asked her to lengthen stride she responded positively to comfortably open her account.
Tavi L’Amour is trained for us by John O’Shea and is the eighth winner produced by the Danehill mare Love Diamonds and among her brood is the G2 Lowland Stakes winner and joint New Zealand Bloodstock Filly Of The Year Queen Of Diamonds.
Successful as a two-year-old, Love Diamonds has an unraced Almanzor filly named My Diamanz while her Embellish colt sold for $60,000 to Roger James and Robert Wellwood at Karaka earlier this year.
She also produced another colt by Savabeel’s Group 1-winning son Embellish last season.
Love Diamonds is out of the dual Group 1 winner Tristalove, who has been a broodmare gem as the dam also of G1 Spring Champion Stakes winner Viking Ruler, Group 2 winners Lovetrista and Kempinsky and stakes winner Diamond Like.
As a member of the famous Eight Carat family, Tavi L’Amour will be a valuable future addition to our broodmare band.
