What a week for Almanzor11 Sep 2021

A wonderful international week for Almanzor was crowned in the United States overnight when his son Unanimous Consent romped to victory over 1600 metres at Monmouth Park.

The Chad Brown-trained colt produced a powerful finishing run wide out on the track under rider Nik Juarez to win going away on debut.

During the week, Almanzor’s daughter Queen Trezy was successful at Lyon Parilly in France while his son Abbado was a winner at Chester in England.

Unanimous Consent was initially sold for 85,000 Guineas (NZ$167,000) to the Jamie Railton Sales Agency at the Tattersalls December Foals’ Sale and then went to the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale where he was bought by Mike Ryan for 150,000 Guineas (NZ$296,500).

The colt is out of the Fastnet Rock mare Fast Lily and she is a half-sister to the G2 York Lowther Stakes winner Silk Blossom and her sister Mashoora was a dual Group 3 winner and placed at Group 1 level.
