Tavistock 3YO William Scott broke maiden ranks with a dominant 1 ¾ length win over 1400m at Te Rapa this afternoon.

Trained by Stephen Marsh, William Scott had hinted to ability for owners Sam Beatson, Ben Foote and Te Miro Estates Ltd with encouraging performances in his previous four starts.

“He’s always promised a lot. He’ll go on and will be a horse to follow,” said Marsh after the race.

Bred by his co-owner, Te Miro Estates Ltd, William Scott is out of the Danzero mare Danvers, who is herself a sister to the Gr.1 AJC Flight Stakes winning Danglissa.

William Scott is Tavistock’s 120th individual 3YO winner.
