Windspeed blows rivals away

Windspeed bounced back to her best with a commanding frontrunning performance on the all-weather track at Cambridge.

Our homebred daughter of the late Tavistock has been below par of late, but the four-year-old produced a dynamic effort from the outside gate to demolish her Rating 75 opposition over 1300 metres.

Trained by Stephen Marsh, Windspeed crossed to lead for apprentice Crystal Lindsay and was coasting at the top of the straight.

The mare then forged clear with a minimum of effort to win easing down by 1.3l and the fourth victory of her career.

Windspeed was purchased out of our 2020 draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale.

She is a daughter of the unraced Zabeel mare Tuesday’s Child, who hails from a well-performed family that features the multiple Group 1 winner and champion sire Redoute’s Choice.
