Yearling Filming Full Steam Ahead

21 Dec 2009

New Zealand Thoroughbred Marketing's move into the field of yearling filming has started off in great style with Cambridge Stud's 52 Premier Sale offerings all being put in front of the camera yesterday afternoon.

"Our first official shoot was at Ardsley Stud in Masterton last Friday, but yesterday was the first big effort," said NZTM's Adrian Clark.

"It was like a well-oiled machine at Cambridge Stud yesterday.  We filmed 17 fillies, followed by 35 colts and the entire job was done in 4 hours.  Marcus Corban and his team did an outstanding job."

NZTM has 494 yearlings booked, to date, and clips will be posted progressively on New Zealand Bloodstock's site (www.nzb.co.nz) as the film shoots and edit process takes place.

"This is all about providing a cost-effective filming option for our stakeholders," said Clark

"It costs $150 + gst per horse and every cent of that income stays in the country."

NZTM is providing the yearling filming service, known as 'Premium Thoroughbred Camera', in conjunction with the Hamilton-based television production company Montrose Video Ltd.

"Tony Van Deursen and his team at Montrose are very professional and I have no doubt that the video clips are going to be of excellent quality across the board," added Clark.
