10 Apr 2010

Within hours of Jesicabeel providing Zabeel with his 130th individual black type winner at Royal Randwick, across in Perth, Brother Mak took the tally to 131 with success in the Listed Melvista Stakes.

Zabeel is now one win ahead of his own sire, Sir Tristram, on the score of individual stakeswinners.

Brother Mak becomes the fourth foal from Enhancer by Zabeel to win a black type race, the others being Able Master (Auckland Cup-Gr.1), Exaggerate (QE 11 Cup-SG2) and Accumulate (VRC St Leger-Gr.3).

Bred by Frank Paviour 1970 Ltd, Brother Mak was sold by Cambridge Stud at the 2008 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Premier Sale for $260,000.  The buyer was prominent Perth bloodstock consultant John Chalmers.

Brother Mak is prepared by Wally Mitchell and has now won 3 of his seven starts for prizemoney of A$74,000.
