Zabeel Leads Way For Dewar Award

Cambridge Stud champion sire Zabeel is leading the way in the race for the Dewar Stallion Award.


On latest figures Zabeel holds a signficant lead in the title which recognises the New Zealand-based stallion with the highest progeny earnings in Australasia.


Zabeel's progeny have this season won $6,726,424 in Australasia - with 2007 Melbourne Cup winner Efficient being the major contributor to this total.


O'Reilly is leading the charge after Zabeel with the Waikato Stud-based sire having progeny earnings of A$6,122,394.


This means that Zabeel is currently $604,030 in front of O'Reilly for the Award.


Zabeel has won the Dewar Award for the 12 past consecutive years.
