Zabeel moves to 145 individual SW

The Patinack Farm-owned Tremec (Zabeel ex Tipple, by Stravinsky) became the 145th individual black type winner for his sire when taking out yesterday’s Randwick City Stakes-LR (2200m) at Warwick Farm in Sydney.

Tremec was bred to be good; not only is he a son of the Super Sire, but his dam is a daughter of the champion mare Horlicks.  The grey mare by Three Legs won 17 races including a Japan Cup, four Group One races in NZ and another in Australia.

Tremec’s dam is a Stravinsky half-sister to the Melbourne Cup winner Brew (Sir Tristram).

Tremec was bred by Horlicks’ owner Graham de Gruchy and was sold by Wentwood Grange for $400,000 at the 2010 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Premier Sale.
