They say that practice makes perfect.
In theory Zabeel doesn’t need any practice with the Super Sire having covered 2583 mares during his 21 seasons at stud to date.
But Sir Patrick Hogan is not one to take any chances and decided to put Zabeel over a ‘practice mare’ today as he readies for Saturday’s start to the serving part of the season.
“We just wanted to make sure he was happy and ready for what’s immediately ahead,” said Sir Patrick this morning.
Sir Patrick said that Zabeel performed with his usual zest and confirmed his readiness for season number 22 at stud.
