In romping away with yesterday’s A$500,000 ATC Rosehill Guineas, It’s a Dundeel provided Zabeel with his 10th Group One victory this season in the role of a broodmare sire.

It’s a Dundeel (High Chaparral ex Stareel, by Zabeel) has now won three Group One races this season for trainers Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman, the ATC Spring Champion Stakes-Gr.1 (2000m), ATC Randwick Guineas-Gr.1 (1600m) and the ATC Rosehill Guineas-Gr.1 (2000m).

Ocean Park (Thorn Park ex Sayyida, by Zabeel) has won five Group One races this season, two in New Zealand (Makfi Challenge Stakes & Air New Zealand Stakes) and another three in Australia (Underwood Stakes, Caulfield Stakes and W S Cox Plate).

The other pair of Group One winners this season from a Zabeel mare are Commanding Jewel (Thousand Guineas) and Dear Demi (VRC Oaks).

The progeny from Zabeel mares have won A$11,509,046 (information courtesy of Arion Pedigrees) this season alone in Australia and the stallion clearly leads the Australian Broodmare Sire Premiership from Danehill and Snippets.

Zabeel is currently second on the New Zealand Broodmare Sire Premiership.
