Zabeel Well Clear In Dewar Stallion Award

Zabeel currently has a clear lead in the 2008/09 Dewar Stallion Award for combined progeny earnings in Australia and New Zealand.

Latest figures supplied by New Zealand Thoroughbred Marketing see Zabeel leading the award table with his progeny earnings this season having totalled $5,369,877.

His nearest rival is O'Reilly whose progeny have earned $4,223,392 this season. O'Reilly won the award last season.

Zabeel has won the Dewar Award on 12 previous occasions - a record number for any stallion.

Two other Cambridge Stud-based stallions figure in the top 10 stallions on the Dewar Award table.

Stravinsky, who previously stood at Cambridge Stud, has progeny earnings of $2,536,054 in Australasia this season while Keeper has combined Australia and New Zealand progeny earnings of $1,178,208.
