While the now retired Super Sire Zabeel grazes contently in his paddock at Cambridge Stud, the worldwide racing and breeding fraternity is waking up to the news that he will be crowned Champion Broodmare Sire - not only in Australia, but in New Zealand as well.
What's more, it is the third season in a row that Zabeel has dominated both the Australian and New Zealand Broodmare Sire Premierships.
While final figures won't be confirmed by Arion Pedigrees for another day or so, such is the extent of Zabeel's lead as a damsire - in both countries - that he cannot be headed on either Premiership.
