Zabisco now with Moroney at Flemington

8 Mar 2012

The promising and super-consistent Zabeel four-year-old Zabisco is now trained by Mike Moroney from his Flemington base & will make his Australian debut on that course tomorrow.

Zabisco (Zabeel ex Arthena, by Desert Sun) steps out in the A$100,000 Super Saturday Stakes-LR (1400m) and will be ridden by Craig Williams.

Bred by Greene Thoroughbreds Ltd, Zabisco was raced and trained by David Greene, who operates from an excellent facility alongside the Te Rapa racetrack in Hamilton.

Zabisco had nine starts in this country and was never out of the money.  He won his fourth start at Ruakaka and added two further victories at Te Rapa before being sent south for a crack at the Group 2 Coupland’s Bakeries Mile at Riccarton Park.  Zabisco stepped up admirably, finishing third behind Platinum Princess and Twilight Savings.
