Ithadtobezou returned from a break in the best possible fashion at Canterbury Park and trainer John Thompson believes our Zoustar filly can continue on her winning way.

Our Zoustar three-year-old placed once from a handful of starts during her first preparation and, following a spell, broke her maiden over 1250 metres.

“She’s always showed a lot of promise, but was quite raw and a bit green last time on wet tracks,” Thompson said.

“Hopefully, it stays a bit drier now and she can carry on winning and I thought Kerrin did a terrific job.”

Thompson was referring to his jockey Kerrin McEvoy who settled the filly in fourth spot in a small field before they hit the front 100 metres out to put the issue beyond doubt.

Bred by Kia Ora Stud, we purchased Ithadtobezou at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale for A$340,000 and the filly is a daughter of the Lonhro mare Define, who was successful on three occasions and Group placed.

She is out of the G1 Canterbury Guineas winner Fine Society, who is a half-sister to the G2 South African Derby winner and two-time Group 1 placegetter Silverpoint.
