John Thompson will be looking at future black type options for Ithadtobezou after she thumped a competitive Benchmark 64 line-up over 1200 metres at Canterbury Park.

The Randwick trainer produced our daughter of Zoustar to win two on the bounce after she had broken her maiden on the course at her previous appearance.

“I thought the winner of this race would be close to stakes level,” Thompson said.

Ithadtobezou jumped well for jockey Kerrin McEvoy to sit in fourth spot one off the fence and she put her rivals to the sword when she strode to the front 200 metres from the post.

“That was very good and she was well ridden by Kerrin, it was a strong race and pretty much a carbon copy to her previous run,” Thompson said.

Ithadtobezou was bred by Kia Ora Stud and we purchased her at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale for A$340,000.

She is a daughter of the Lonhro mare Define, who was successful on three occasions and Group placed.

Define is out of the G1 Canterbury Guineas winner Fine Society, who is a half-sister to the G2 South African Derby winner and two-time Group 1 placegetter Silverpoint.
