Warwoven tightened his grip on the upcoming A$3 million Magic Millions when he cruised to victory at Eagle Farm to maintain his perfect record.
The son of Sword Of State completed a grand day for his Cambridge Stud-based sire following the earlier success at Te Aroha of State The Obvious.
The stallion’s daughter Torture also did her Karaka Millions hopes no harm at Geelong where she made ground well for fourth under topweight of 59kg after blowing the start.
Warwoven will start a short-priced favourite in the Magic Millions at the Gold Coast on January 17 after he followed up his debut win at Randwick with another commanding performance.
“He’s had a good hit out and paraded beautifully, lovely and relaxed,” trainer Bjorn Baker said.
“We’ve won the Magic Millions twice before and he’s got a great attitude, it’s very exciting.”
Warwoven was sourced by Baker’s bloodstock agent Jim Clarke at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale where he was offered by breeder Kia Ora Stud and sold for A$380,000.
He is the first foal of the Makfi mare Needle And Thread, who won the G2 Royal Stakes and placed at Group 2 level in the Sir Tristram Fillies’ Classic and Eight Carat Classic and G3 Sunline Vase.
