Since its foundation in 1976 by Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan, Cambridge Stud has become world renowned as a breeding ground of champions. Our hallowed turf, in the heart of the Waikato, has produced winners of the biggest races throughout Australasia and been the home to multiple champion stallions. Today the property combines state-of-the-art facilities with the best of local and international bloodlines as we continue to build on the farm’s proud history of success.
Chaldean covered a high-quality book of 173 mares in his first season at Juddmonte Farm in the UK and his first foals have been arriving this spring. The progeny of our mulitple Gr.1 winning son of Frankel are receiving rave reviews from European breeders and farm managers.
"A quality colt, well balanced with size, scope and a mscular hip. Very much the sire." Simon Mockridge, Juddmonte. 2025 bay colt ex Hot Snap (Pivotal).
"A very good-looking and athletic colt with a lot of quality. It's the best foal the mare has produced to date." Simon Weeting, Overbury Stud. 2025 bay colt ex Velma Valento (Dabirsim).
"A strongly made foal with a big walk and lots of quality. A very pleasing result especially with the Frankel/Pivotal cross proving so successful with five Group One winners to date." Cathal Beale, CEO Irish National Stud. 2025 chestnut filly ex Aimhirgin Lass (Pivotal).
"He is a cracking first foal. Strong, correct, fantastic muscle definition and a great mover, just like his sire." Stuart Thom, Galloway Stud. 2025 bay colt ex Desert Dreamer (Oasis Dream).
"I'm really impressed with the Chaldean foals I've seen come through the breeding shed at Whitsbury and Juddmonte have some stunners I saw on a recent visit there. Strong, correct foals with good bone. They've got a great hip and shoulder like their sire and have a real presence about them." Ben Tappenden, Whitsbury Manor Stud

Lucy In The Sky executed her southern plan to perfection at Riccarton and in the process earned a slice of domestic racing history.
Our promising youngster became the first winner of a black-type race on a synthetic track in New Zealand when she romped to victory in the Listed Champagne Stakes.
Due to the fierce Canterbury weather, the 1200 metre feature was switched from the turf to the all-weather track and it didn’t faze the Tony Pike-trained representative in the slightest.
She also credited our promising young shuttle stallion Hello Youmzain with his first Southern Hemisphere stakes winner.
“We came down here to get a stakes win on the board before the end of her two-year-old season and she had the class edge,” Pike said.
“It augurs well for next season and to be back here in November for the Guineas would be great.”
Lucy In The Sky crossed to lead from a wide gate and surged clear in the run home under the urging of Jasmine Fawcett to beat our homebred and sold King’s Legacy filly Queen’s Legacy.
“She’s a class horse and turning for home I was quite confident she would put them to bed,” Fawcett said.
Lucy In The Sky will now be spelled after an initial three-start campaign that has netted two wins and a gallant sixth, after being hounded in front, in the G1 Sistema Stakes.
She is a half-sister to the G2 Rich Hill Mile winner Ruud Not Too with their dam the unraced O’Reilly mare Too Many Diamonds, now retired from breeding.
Lucy In The Sky is out of a half-sister to the G3 Red Anchor Stakes winner Royal Asscher and a strong juvenile family that includes the G1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Diamond Shower.

Noted frontrunning rider Craig Newitt maintained his unbeaten record on So You Will with an impressive all-the-way victory over 1400 metres on the Lakeside track at Sandown.
He had firstly combined with the Shane Nichols-trained representative to win a maiden event at Werribee last month and they had no trouble making it two on the bounce.
Our home-bred and raced three-year-old was first into stride to make the running and Newitt increased the tempo before the turn.
“When we found the front, he was able to relax and I got them chasing around the corner and he was too strong,” he said.
Newitt is confident So You Will can continue to improve and will relish a step up in distance.
“I think he’s got a fair bit of upside this bloke and will get further, no doubt,” he said.
We bred So You Will and remained in the ownership group after he was knocked down to Nichols for $275,000 out of our draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale.
He is the second foal of the Listed Inglewood Stakes winner Respin, whose first is Almanzor’s son Balance Of Power, the stakes placed winner of four races.
His brother sold to Ryan and Alexiou Racing and Andrew Williams Bloodstock for $260,000 at Karaka last year and Respin has a yearling daughter of Almanzor named Manarola.
She produced a filly by Satono Aladdin last season and is in foal to Frankel’s multiple Group 1-winning son Chaldean.
