Jeudixx made a bold statement on the G1 French Oaks undercard at Chantilly with a blistering debut victory.
The highly regarded youngster made her belated first appearance over 1100 metres and the daughter of Hello Youmzain rewarded the patience of trainers Yann and Carlos Lerner in spades.
Jeudixx ran her rivals into the deck with a commanding frontrunning performance to credit our shuttle stallion with his first two-year-old winner from his second European crop.
“We’ve had nothing but problems with her since April and she should’ve debuted much earlier,” Yann Lerner told Jour de Galop.
“Just two weeks ago, she had a ringworm flare-up, and four days ago she banged herself up again.
“Honestly, we thought she wouldn’t be able to run. I’ve been comparing her to (dual stakes winner) Jasna’s Secret for a while now.
“She still lacks a bit of physical presence, but I bought her for her precocity. The last fifteen days have been very difficult, but we worked hard because we knew this was a race we couldn’t afford to miss.”
Jeudixx left a lasting impression after she had delivered at the first time of asking with a high- speed performance in the hands of Alexis Pouchin that left her closest challenger three and a-half lengths adrift.
“She’s small, but she’s packed with quality. Her jockey told us she was able to respond again when the others came at her, something that’s a very good sign for the future,” Carlos Lerner said.
“She’s not the easiest filly to handle, but she still has a lot left to show.”
Jeudixx is out of the unraced Charming Thought are Got Storm, who is a half-sister to former champion Australian stayer Gold Trip, Group 1 winner of the Melbourne Cup and Turnbull Stakes.
