Tough effort from Hello Youmzain 3YO

A change of tactics with Hello Romeo worked a treat at Albury where he gave weight and beating to his older rivals over 1000 metres.

The three-year-old son of Hello Youmzain had raced close to the pace in his previous two victories for trainers Ben, Will and JD Hayes, but from a wide gate and a 61kg impost he was allowed to drift back in the field.

Apprentice Brittany Button set him alight to improve wide across the top and he held a strong gallop to return to winning ways.

Bred by Jomara Bloodstock, Hello Romeo was purchased out of Hallmark Stud’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $150,000 by Lindsay Park.

He is the first foal of the Shooting To Win mare Julieta, who has produced two further sons of Hello Youmzain and is back in foal to our champion first season sire.

Julieta is a half-sister to Jomara’s three-time Group 1 winner Humidor and another branch of the Eight Carat family.
