Veomas does it in style
Well-related four-year-old Veomas capped off steady improvement this preparation to break through with authority at Doomben.
The Tony Gollan-trained son of I Am Invincible had finished in the money in his first two outings before a runner-up finish at Ipswich and went one better in style over 1350 metres.
With Angela Jones again sporting our silks, Veomas began smartly to make the running and travelled well at the head of affairs into the straight.
He needed little persuasion to lengthen stride and cruised to the post to win unextended.
Bred by Warwick Jeffries, Veomas was offered by Highline Thoroughbreds at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale where we purchased him for $510,000 with Te Akau’s David Ellis signing the ticket.
He is a half-brother to G1 Champagne Stakes winner Seabrook with their dam the unraced Don Eduardo mare Midnight Revels, who is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner My Emotion and the family of Group 1 winners Aloha and Malaguerra.
