An outstanding daughter of our new stallion Chaldean proved to be a hot ticket item at the Arqana Yearling Sale at Deauville in France.
The filly by the multiple Group 1-winning son of Frankel turned plenty of heads before she was secured out of Haras de Saint Pair’s draft by Anglia Bloodstock’s Amanda Skiffington for $1.28 million.
She is out of the stakes-winning Oasis Dream mare Pearly Steph and the family of G1 Matron Stakes heroine Pearls Galore.
Chaldean’s second top lot was a colt from Haras du Cadran’s consignment who was knocked down to Sackville Donald for $275,600.
He is from the Lope De Vega mare Countess De Vega whose third dam is the seven-time Group 1 winner Serena’s Song, who also produced elite level winner Sophisticat.
Chaldean’s five youngsters sold for $1.9 million at an average of $397,600 and continued the hot selling start he’s made to his Northern Hemisphere career after his first foals averaged NZ$260,000 and sold up to NZ$580,000 at the Tattersalls Foal Sale in England.
