A strong international pedigree was to the fore for Cambridge Stud at Tauherenikau where homebred filly Le Zain Bolt made a successful debut over 1000 metres.
Prepared by Guy Lowry and Leah Zydenbos, the Hello Youmzain two-year-old settled off the pace in a small field and drove between runners in the straight for rider Lily Sutherland to score at the first time of asking.
“She had won a couple of jump-outs and her work had been good, she’s a very competitive filly,” Lowry said.
A $15,000 Karaka yearling graduate, Le Zain Bolt is the first winner for the Irish-bred Big Bad Bob mare Mink Fashion, who was secured for 12,000gns at the 2018 Tattersalls December Sale.
She is a half-sister to the G3 Sandown Henry II Stakes winner Magic Circle with their dam the Sadler’s Wells mare Minkova who produced multiple stakes winners Sibila Spain and Master Of Reality.
Mink Fashion has a yearling sister to Le Zain Bolt and is again due to foal to Hello Youmzain.
