Impressive Guineas trial

Sword Of Stars made a bold Classic statement at Riccarton where she was a dominant winner of the G3 War Decree Stakes over 1400 metres.

The Sword Of State filly is prepared by Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson and is now at $10 in the pre-post New Zealand 1000 Guineas market and $18 for the 2000 Guineas.

Sword Of Stars was given a good run on the fence by rider Wiremu Pinn who angled her across heels 300 metres from home and she then surged past her rivals to score with ease.

“We took the side winkers off and I loved the way she relaxed, it was good to see her attack the line,” Bergerson said.

“We’re looking forward to getting her up to a mile, she’s a lovely filly and it’s exciting for Sword of State.”

Sword Of Stars was purchased at Karaka for $350,000 by Te Akau’s Sir David Ellis from the draft of breeder Windsor Park Stud.

She is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Angelic Miss with their dam the Guillotine mare Angelica Hall who produced a colt last season by Chaldean.
