Silver Wedding added further performance to her rich pedigree with a sizzling first-up performance over 1000 metres at Eagle Farm.

Our daughter of Zoustar stormed home from back in the field in the hands of Kerrin McEvoy to advance her record to four victories and three placings from 13 appearances.

“That was a fantastic result and she keeps improving with each preparation,” trainer Ciaron Maher said.

“She went over to New Zealand and ran a solid race there and has come back really well.”

Silver Wedding finished midfield and less than two and a-half lengths off the winner in the Gr.3 Aotearoa Classic at Ellerslie in January.

“We’ll probably lift the bar for her now, that was a top win and she’s got a lovely pedigree. She’s really well bred and in time will fit right in the Cambridge Stud broodmare band,” Maher said.

We purchased Silver Wedding out of breeder Widden Stud’s draft at the 2023 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for A$800,000.

She is a daughter of the G2 Angus Armanasco Stakes winner Silver Sham, a Not A Single Doubt mare who is from the family of multiple Group 1 winner and Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice.

His half-brothers Platinum Scissors and Manhattan Rain were also top-flight winners while their half-sister The Broken Shore is the dam of three-time Group 1 winner Shoals.
