Sterling effort from Livalittle

Livalittle looks set to make his mark in stronger company this campaign following a mighty performance to score on his home track at Eagle Farm.

Our homebred and raced son of The Autumn Sun gave his rivals a big start and a beating over 1600 metres following his resuming sprint effort for second at the Sunshine Coast.

Livalittle has fashioned the tidy record of five victories and five placings from 12 appearances, but trainer Tony Gollan said it hasn’t been all plain sailing with the chestnut.

“It took him a while to work out what racing is all about and was a bit of a handful earlier on.”

In his latest success, he drifted back from a wide barrier to a clear last before picking up ground to be widest on the turn and lengthened stride impressively in the run home for apprentice Leah Martyn.

“He put three wins together at the end of his last preparation and he’s definitely come back much better,” Gollan said.

“He’s got a good pedigree and has a very bright future.”

The rising five-year-old is out of the Thorn Park mare Hayley Grace from the upfront family of two-time Group 1 winner Te Akau Shark.

Livalittle is a half-brother to three winners, including Hello Youmzain’s daughter Hello Hayley who claimed this season’s Listed Dunedin Guineas and Listed Southland Guineas.
