Stud farms are circling crack colt Warwoven and the price on his head went further skyward following his victory in the G1 Caulfield Guineas.

The Bjorn Baker-trained son of our resident sire Sword Of State successfully stepped up to a mile off the back of his runaway win in the G1 Golden Rose to further lift his future stallion profile.

Warwoven loped along one off the fence in fifth spot before rider Rachel King peeled three wide before the turn and was dominant in the run home.

“He leaves me speechless, there were a few question marks and we didn’t know how he would handle this way around, but he showed his class,” said King, who posted her 10th success at the highest level.

“I’ve never sat on a horse like this before, Bjorn and his team have done an amazing job with him.”

The G1 Cox Plate now beckons Warwoven, who has now won six of his nine appearances.

“It was an incredible ride by Rachel who moved on him before the corner, he’s an outstanding colt,” stable representative Luke Hilton said.

“It’s been pretty emotional as there’s been a fair bit of pressure on with this horse.”

Warwoven was identified by Baker’s bloodstock agent Jim Clarke at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale where he was offered by breeder Kia Ora Stud and secured for A$380,000.

He is the first foal of the Makfi mare Needle And Thread, who won the G2 Royal Stakes and placed at Group 2 level in the Sir Tristram Fillies’ Classic and Eight Carat Classic and G3 Sunline Vase.
