Strong European auction results continued to flow through the Goffs Orby Sale for Cambridge Stud’s Chaldean.
His leading light was Lot 419 consigned by Deerpark Stud with the good-looking filly knocked down to Amo Racing for €300,000 ($605,000)
She is out of the English-bred Showcasing mare Ceanna, a daughter of the G1 Preis der Diana winner Penelopa and the family of North American Group winners Miss Isella, Sir Cherokee and World Record.
Amo Racing was also the successful bidder at €180,000 ($360,000) for Lot 226, a son of Chaldean offered by Yeomanstown Stud.
The colt’s dam is the stakes placed Le Havre mare Redressed with champion mare and six-time Group 1 winner Midday the star of his pedigree page.
Fourteen yearlings by Chaldean achieved a 100% clearance rate and sold for €1,745,000 ($3,500,000) at an average of €124,643 ($253,900) with the two top lots claimed by Amo Racing, founded by Iranian-born, British-educated businessman Kia Joorabchian.
