Moschino produced a dashing performance when she returned from a break at Ellerslie.
The daughter of Ten Sovereigns gave her rivals a start and a beating over 1200 metres in her first appearance since May.
Cambridge Stud graduate Moschino settled at the tail of the field after a slow getaway before improving wide at the top of the straight and she mowed down her rivals under the urgings of Michal McNab.
“She looked awesome, she’s really strengthened up and is a lovely mare,” said trainer and part-owner Margaret Falconer.
“She likes the firmer tracks, and we’ll target some black print now, I think she’s in for a good season.”
Moschino is out of the winning Stravinsky mare Botanic whose half-brother Diamond King was a South African stakes winner and their dam Salsa claimed the Listed VRC Winter Champion and ran second in the G1 New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes.
We sold Moschino’s half-sister by Sword Of State at Karaka earlier this year for $420,000 to trainer Stephen Marsh and Dylan Johnson Bloodstock with the filly named Silversword.
Botanic recently produced a colt by Sword Of State.
