Progressive mare Attractiveness added to her tidy record with a stylish performance to triumph over 1400 metres at Rosehill.
The four-year-old relished the improved underfoot conditions to credit our shuttle stallion Hello Youmzain with an early strike on the opening day of the season.
The winner of three of her eight starts, Attractiveness had finished third behind Chris Waller’s rising star Hello Captain, also by Hello Youmzain, and fifth on the course in her two previous outings.
“To be fair, she didn’t handle the Heavy 10 track last time and that Hello Captain form is good form,” co-trainer Will Freedman said.
“She’s got a good turn of foot and in three or four months’ time you’ll see a much better horse, she’s just a late maturer.”
Attractiveness settled three deep on the fence before she shouldered into the clear 400 metres from home and strode clear under rider Chad Schofield.
Bred by Graham and Helen-Gaye Bax, she was a $120,000 Karaka purchase and is out of the winning High Chaparral mare Hot In High Heels.
