Dashing Durova does it again in

Russian Revolution mare Durova continued her golden run of form at Grafton where she was successful over 1000 metres.

Our homebred has now won seven of her nine starts since she transferred to Cameron Crockett’s Scone operation.

She had previously broken her maiden when trained by Ciaron Maher, who originally purchased her for $250,000 from our 2023 draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale.

While Durova has found top form for Crockett, she hasn’t been straight forward by any means.

“She is not easy to train, she’s not easy to do anything with and I don’t think she likes wet track either,” he said.

Durova was on her best behaviour at Grafton where she came with a well-timed run from the back of the field in the hands of Alysha Collett.

The four-year-old is a daughter of the Shamardal mare Aotearower who was a four-time winner and placed in the G3 Anniversary Handicap and her dam Kaatoon was a multiple Group winner.

Aotearower produced a colt last season by Sword Of State and is currently in foal to Almanzor.
