Naraghi Books Her Place at Cup Week

A superb rail-hugging ride from Alana Kelly helped Hello Youmzain mare Naraghi secure victory in Sunday’s $100,000 feature at Horsham, with the win earning the Liam Howley-trained mare a place in the $500,000 Melbourne Cup Carnival Country Final over 1600m at Flemington on Oaks Day.

A Group 3 placegetter as a three-year-old last season, Naraghi was bred by Wentwood Grange. She is out of dual Group 2 winner Our Abbadean, a daughter of Lookin At Lucky who was successful on seven occasions.

Naraghi was purchased for $260,000 by Liam Howley, in partnership with Bevan Smith Bloodstock and Andrew Williams Bloodstock, from Wentwood Grange’s 2024 New Zealand Bloodstock Book 1 draft.
