Warwoven produced a statement performance at Rosehill where the Sword Of State colt dominated a top quality three-year-old line-up in the G2 Run To The Rose.
The Bjorn Baker-trained representative had finished fifth when he resumed from the outside barrier in the G3 San Domenico Stakes and showed his true colours second-up.
“He had really come on since his first run when he had a tricky gate to deal with,” stable representative Luke Hilton said.
Warwoven jumped well to race on the pace under regular rider Rachel King and lengthened stride impressively to land the 1200 metre age group feature.
He will step up in distance next time out in the G1 Golden Rose Stakes at Rosehill in a bid to advance his record of four wins from seven appearances.
“He’s a quality colt with a beautiful, long action, he relaxes well so 1400 metres should suit him well, Hilton said.
Out of the Makfi mare Needle And Thread who won the G2 Royal Stakes, Warwoven was bred by Kia Ora Stud and was a A$380,000 purchase at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
